Hearts are disappointed that Valakari has been declared "unavailable for transfer" and manager Craig Levein has said that he will now have to look elsewhere.
Meanwhile Rams Manager Colin Todd has dismissed reports that he is set to take onBordeaux full-back Francois Grenet.
Grenet had been rumoured to be mising out on playing in the UEFA Cup this Thursday to enable him to join the Rams for a trial.
