Rumours of John Gregory taking over the vacant Sunderland managers job are starting to emerge
|
Other candidates for the Sunderland job are being whittled down. Front-runner George Graham has been taken out of the race when his agent, Steve Cutner said “This is not the right opportunity for George at the moment”.
Local Sunderland papers have said that ex Leeds United boss David O’Leary has been ruled out but the reason for this is not clear at the moment.
So it now looks like being a choice between Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy or John Gregory.
Gregory however has indicated to local media in and around Derby that he is quite happy at the moment with the Rams. We are sure there will be more rumour and counter rumour in the coming days and weeks.
