Eastwood rides into town

Fredy Eastwood
Rumour has it that Derby County are currently interested in Southend United hotshot Fredy Eastwood.

The shrimpers hitman has scored 21 goals this season and at just 22 years of age could be what Derby County are looking for to boost their pitiful attacking options for next season. The six footer has scored 36 goals in just 59 appearances for Southend since a move from Grays Athletic on his birthday on the 5th November 2004. Eastwood started his career at West Ham as a trainee.

Fredy will not come cheap and as yet the Rams don't even know who will be in charge for next season, either on the pitch or in the boardroom. As the season nears its end the club is still very much in turmoil and needs the stability of knowing who will be calling the tunes come August.

Burleys Ram raid

Other rumours have ex Rams boss George Burley wanting to take both Inigo Idiakez and Tommy Smith to Saint Mary's next season. Burley is keen to sort out his squad early in a bid to get Southampton into a position for a promotion push, as the canny Scot did with the Rams just a season ago.
