Unfortunately during talks between the Rams and the Hammers a figure could not be agreed upon for the 19 year old midfield/striker. Derby Value Barnes highly and make no secret that a high figure needs to be tabled to tempt the Rams to part with a very talented young man.
Derby may need to sell Barnes however if bids are accepted by the Rams for the Southampton pairing of Kenwyn Jones and Jhon Viafara. New efforts have been put in place to tempt at least Kenwyn Jones to Derby, as a much needed extra striker in the Rams squad.
Derby County have also admitted other bids from other sides for Barnes but have not yet said who they are.
A bidding war may soon be taking place between interested parties for the services of Giles Barnes.
