Robert Earnshaw Derby County's new record signing
Derby County have made a big statement in their first transfer dealings after clinching promotion to the Premiership. The club have paid out a record £3.5m for the Welsh International Striker.

The fee was not quite as large as previously stated on Derby County Mad this morning but it is a significant amount for the Rams to pay to try and ensure their Premiership survival.

Robert is looking forward to forging a partnership with Rams player of the year Steve Howard. The pairing will hopefully grab their fair share of goals. Earnshaw had a prolific record last season in the Championship grabbing 27 in just 41 games and 4 substitute appearances. His Premiership record is also superb, scoring 12 in 22 full starts for West Brom.

Rams Chairman Peter Gadsby has also indicated that this signing could be the first of many over the next few weeks before battle commemces in the Premiership.
