Derby County are believed to have made their ninth signing of the closed season, bringing Stockport's Liam Dickinson to the club for an improved offer on the initial £250,000 offered by the Rams.

Liam is a tall striker, scoring on 22 occasions for Stockport County last season in league two and even in their play-off final win in May. At 6ft 4 inches he is one of the tallest Rams strikers since Ian Ormanroyd and hopefully will be on the end of all the balls crossed into the penalty box this season. He is moving up two divisions but Rams manager, Paul Jewell said he is "Big strong, hungry, works like a Trojan and can be a good player for Derby County...
