Derby looking at quality signings

Paul Jewell is very keen to bring in at least four players to try and keep the Rams in the Premiership.

Several of the players being mentioned have very good pedigree.

One player who is definitely coming to Moor Farm tomorrow is former Newcastle star Laurent Robert. The 32 year old left wing player has a terrific free kick and can supply a ready stream of crosses for new Striker Emanuel Villa, who is currently having his medical and putting the fine detail to his contract.

Robert however has a petulant nature and stormed out of the North East derbie when left out of the Newcastle side. Rams manager Jewell has said "He is coming on Friday so that we can have a look at him".

Boaz MyHill
Glyn Myhill may be a target for the Rams
The reason Paul Jewell was at the Stoke city versus Hull City game on New Years day could now be answered as the new Rams boss is said to have been looking at highly rated Hull goalkeeper Glyn Oliver (Boaz) Myhill.

The 6ft 4 inch keeper is rated as one of the best goalkeepers outside the Premiership and the rumour is that Derby County could be prepared to go up to £2m to secure his services. Myhill was born in California, USA but moved to the UK when aged only one. His early football life was spent at Aston Villa and has been with current club Hull City since a £50,000 move from Villa in 2003.

Myhill's contract is set to run out in June of this year so a loan spell may be a chance for the Rams and player to see what will happen to their respective clubs at the end of this season...
